Donations & Fundraising
The Golden Years Society operates a friendly, supportive space for seniors to gather, socialize and participate in a variety of activities that enhance quality of life. We believe that every person has value and the right to be comfortable, safe and healthy.
We are a registered non-profit organization that has been active in Fort McMurray for 50 years.
The Society is run by a committed group of volunteers that plan and host monthly activities and special events and who fundraise to cover the cost of the programs and services we offer.
Over the past five years and in response to pandemic isolation, our facility has experienced a significant increase in utilization as physical activity and socialization has become a priority for seniors in enhancing mental and physical health. As such, we offer diverse weekly activities to inspire and engage.
Donating to The Golden Years Society is easy!
Monetary donations are greatly appreciated and allow us the freedom to direct funds where we need it the most. Donations can be made online or in locally by contacting us at goldenyears1976@shaw.ca.
Golden Years is also part of Benevity, a corporate employee giving program that allows employees to direct donations to a charity of their choice.
We are currently looking for support to fund the following programs:

Throughout the year, we host a variety of special events and raffles to support our fundraising efforts including our Christmas Bazaar and Spring Garage Sale.
